The project aims at helping reduce poverty by (a) enhancing the effectiveness of public sector management, in particular in the areas of expenditure, civil service reform; (b) improving the environment for private sector development, including promoting trade and investment; and (c) promoting pro-poor sectoral policy actions, with the focus on health, education, transport and rural development, specifically land reform.
